Matt was born in Powder Springs in 1972 to Harold and Teresa Caldwell. He gives credit to his parents for the sacrifices they made to see that he and his brother were raised in a home that worked hard, played hard, and loved the Lord unashamedly. Matt currently lives on the far west side of Marietta. He has been a West Cobb County resident all of his life and he loves the community where he works and lives. Matt has been married now for almost 24 years to his high school sweetheart, Lori Caldwell. They have four children from 19 down to 10. They are Michael (Freshmen at Young Harris College currently and 2018 graduate of DCS), Mallory Caldwell (sophomore in HS), Max Caldwell (7th grade in MS), and Mark (4th grader in ES). They are active members of First Baptist Church of Powder Springs and have grown up in that church since he was 10 years old. Lori and Matt both attended McEachern High School and then both transitioned to over Kennesaw State College. After college, Lori then went back to McEachern to be a high school science teacher (until Michael came along) and Matt started a commercial construction company called Caldwell Insulation, Inc. Matt has been the president of this and other commercial construction businesses for 24 years now. Matt’s passions include: his marriage to Lori, vacations with his children, his work, baseball, boating, hunting, and baseball.
While all the other facts and figures are what make up who Matt is on this earth, he is first and foremost a child of God and follower of Christ. His hope is that through participation in organizations such Dominion Christian School, he can live in a way that will point others toward Christ and the sacrifice he made for us. We are commanded to love people and that is what he wants for himself and his family. His desire is to share the good news, love others, and trust God with the path he has guides his actions in business, in family, and in his personal walk with the Lord.
