JUNE 10, 2017, MARIETTA, GA -- Mark Ray, DCS science chair, was selected from over 100 Georgia applicants to participate in the grant-funded 2017 Rivers to Reefs Workshop.*
This summer, as part of the workshop, Mr. Ray will contribute in a water-quality research project on the southeast US coast. The team will follow the Ocmulgee Watershed to where it forms the Altamaha River, then down to Sapelo Island, and end with a twenty mile excursion offshore to Gray's Reef.
* The program is sponsored by the Georgia Aquarium and Gordon State University in cooperation with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, the University of Georgian, and the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography.
